Four easy steps for skin that looks fresh, hydrated and naturally luminous
Glass skin is growing up.
The latest version of glow is less about a high-shine finish and more about skin that looks genuinely well: smooth, rested, comfortably hydrated and quietly luminous.
It also comes with a welcome change in attitude. We are moving away from crowded shelves and nightly ingredient cocktails, and returning to the steps that consistently make a difference.
Cleanse without stripping. Replenish what the skin needs. Seal in hydration. Finish every morning with SPF.
Four steps, chosen well. That is the routine.
STEP 1 · CLEANSE
Clean, not stripped
The best cleansing routine is the one that knows when to stop.
Skin does not need to feel squeaky to be clean. In fact, that tight, almost polished sensation is usually a sign that the cleanse has gone further than necessary. The better finish is simple: fresh, soft and comfortable.
Mornings call for a light reset. A gentle foam cleanser removes overnight oil and skincare residue without turning the first step of the day into a deep clean.
Evenings are more situational. If makeup or sunscreen has been involved, begin with an oil cleanser to break everything down, then follow with foam. It is an efficient way to remove the day without relying on aggressive rubbing.
No makeup, no heavy sunscreen, no reason to overcomplicate it. On lighter days, one gentle cleanse may be enough.
AM: Foam cleanse
PM: Oil cleanse → Foam cleanse
The rule is refreshingly straightforward: cleanse for the day you actually had, not the routine you think you are supposed to follow.
STEP 2 · REPLENISH
Pick your PDRN lane
PDRN is firmly in its beauty-main-character era.
The ingredient has moved from in-clinic conversations to serums, creams and masks across the K-beauty category. But as with any trending ingredient, the formula matters more than the hype surrounding it.
This step is not about collecting every pink bottle on the shelf. It is about choosing the texture that makes sense for your skin.
A lightweight serum keeps the routine fresh and layers easily beneath moisturizer, sunscreen and makeup. A more hydration-focused option suits the days when skin feels dry, depleted or simply less resilient than usual.
There is no need to use both at once. More PDRN does not automatically mean more glow, and doubling up on similar formulas can make an otherwise elegant routine feel unnecessarily crowded.
Apply one serum after cleansing, let it settle and move on.
One formula. One clear purpose. Much better.
STEP 3 · SEAL
Seal, don’t smother
A hydrating serum may start the glow, but moisturizer is what gives it staying power.
The right cream should leave skin feeling cushioned, not coated. It should soften the look of dryness, sit comfortably beneath the next layer and still feel good several hours later.
This is where texture becomes personal.
Dry and sensitive skin may prefer something more comforting, particularly during colder months or after long days spent in heated and air-conditioned spaces. If makeup is part of the routine, a silkier cream can create a smoother transition into base products. A face-and-body formula makes sense for anyone who prefers a more streamlined shelf.
Resist the idea that the richest texture must be the most effective. A heavy cream that sits on the surface is not necessarily doing more than a lighter one your skin actually enjoys wearing.
Use enough to remove that just-cleansed feeling, then stop. In the morning, keep the layer light beneath sunscreen. At night, add a little more when the skin asks for it.
Moisturizer should make the routine feel complete—not crowded.
STEP 4 · PROTECT
SPF, no exceptions
There is little point in building a glow routine if protection is treated as optional.
Sunscreen is the step that helps preserve the clarity and even-looking finish created underneath. It also happens to be the product most likely to expose a mismatch between what sounds good on paper and what works in real life.
The best sunscreen is not simply the one with the most impressive label. It is the one you can apply properly, wear comfortably and return to every morning without negotiation.
Sensitive skin may gravitate towards a gentler, more comfortable formula. Oilier complexions often prefer a lighter finish with less visible shine. Normal to dry skin may want something that brings a little more moisture to the final layer.
How it behaves beneath makeup matters, too. Sunscreen should settle cleanly rather than pill, separate or turn the rest of the routine into a layering experiment.
Apply it after moisturizer, extend it over the neck and give it a moment before moving on to makeup. Reapply when extended sun exposure, swimming or perspiration makes it necessary.
The glow may begin with hydration. It lasts with protection.
BUILD YOUR ROUTINE
Four steps. Make them yours.
A considered routine does not need to arrive as a matching set.
Choose a cleanser that leaves skin comfortable. Add one serum with a texture you enjoy. Follow with a moisturizer that suits the season and finish every morning with a sunscreen you will actually wear.
That is the framework. Everything else is personal.
IN THE MORNING
Foam cleanser → PDRN serum → Moisturizer → Sunscreen
Keep the layers light and allow each one to settle. If sunscreen already feels moisturizing, adjust the amount of cream beneath it rather than forcing the routine to become heavier.
IN THE EVENING
Oil cleanser → Foam cleanser → PDRN serum → Moisturizer
Use the oil cleanser when there is makeup or sunscreen to remove. On lighter days, begin with the foam cleanser and keep the rest unchanged.
When introducing something new, add one product at a time. It is the least glamorous advice in beauty, but perhaps the most useful: skin tends to respond better when it is given time to adjust.
Your Routine. Your Glow.
The new glow routine is selective, not excessive.
It leaves behind the pressure to use everything and focuses on four things worth doing well: cleansing, replenishing, sealing and protecting.
The result is not a temporary layer of shine. It is skin that looks calm, fresh and naturally lit from within.
Consider this your barrier-glow reset.
Some PDRN formulas may contain salmon-derived ingredients. Check the ingredient list before use if you have a fish allergy. Patch-test new products before introducing them into your routine, particularly if your skin is sensitive or reactive.
